Joysticks are tough enough for cab use

Penny and Giles is launching a new family of robust multi-axis joysticks designed for demanding hydraulics control applications.

Penny and Giles is launching a new family of robust multi-axis joysticks designed for demanding hydraulics control applications With a range of new safety features and a new high strength lever, the JC6000 is the strongest and most reliable joystick on the market; 50% stronger than its predecessor (the JC600)

Joysticks used for control applications in construction, agricultural, forestry and other off-road vehicles, or on access platforms for example, are often subject to rough handling.

Research by Penny and Giles shows that operators routinely lean heavily on joysticks, and/or use the joystick to pull themselves up into the cab or platform.

The lever of the JC6000 has been tested to 50kg, ensuring durability even under very rough handling.

First in the family is the long-life conductive plastic potentiometer version, based on Penny and Giles proven potentiometer technology which is known for its excellent proportional control and long operational life of more than five million cycles.

Thanks to the modular construction of the new product, the company is able to offer OEMs a wide range of options cost-effectively, making this a highly competitive choice particularly for high volume orders.

The new joystick is available with single or dual axis control and a wide choice of voltage ranges and track resistances, for easy system integration.

There is a wide range of standard handles, or handles may be custom designed for special applications.

Designed for safe, reliable operation, JC6000 has positive centre switching on the x- and y-axes which allows OEMs to build-in system start-up safety easily.

Another key safety feature of the JC6000 is the "dead man" safety switch in the handle which can be connected directly to the logic circuits of the control system.

The JC6000 is housed in a robust metal case, which is sealed above the panel against ingress of dust and water to IP65.

Designed as a direct replacement, the new unit is fully interchangeable with its predecessor, the JC600.

Penny and Giles will launch a contactless Hall-effect version of the JC6000 later in the year.

Other members of the family will include pulsewidth modulated and CANbus output versions. Request a free brochure from Penny + Giles ...
