Penny + Giles has launched a new handle option for its range of rugged and robust JC6000 and JC150 joystick controllers.

The MG handle provides a simple 'person present' trigger switch function while offering the flexibility of two switch options (momentary button or rocker) in the top of the handle.

It is ergonomically designed to ensure the operator's fingers are permanently close to the buttons, minimising operator fatigue and maximising functional, safe control in demanding construction, agricultural, forestry and other off-road vehicle applications.

Penny + Giles' research has shown that operators routinely lean heavily on joysticks and in some cases use the joystick to pull themselves up into the cab.

The MG handle is designed to resist the rough handling associated with many off-highway vehicle applications, and is rated to IP67.

The handle can also be supplied with a hand rest to offer the operator extra comfort, and when coupled with the JC6000, it is one of the strongest and most reliable joystick controllers on the market.

The handle is ideally suited to safety critical applications such as powered man-lifts and access platforms.

The operator must depress and hold the 'person present' trigger before the platform can be moved by the directional control of the joystick.

The handle is an extension to Penny + Giles' range of configurable handles for the rugged joystick range (HKN, HB and A), and OEMs can also benefit from the company's custom-design service to develop handle formats unique to specialist vehicle functions.

For fitting to customer levers or assemblies the handle can be purchased separately.

As a result of the modular 'designed-for-manufacture' format of Penny + Giles' joysticks, the company is able to offer OEMs the flexibility of a wide range of options cost-effectively, making this a highly competitive choice, particularly for high volume users.
