Hall effect rotary sensor set for MTEC launch
With a 88mm diameter housing and 12mm diameter shaft, the SRH880 is the largest noncontact Hall effect rotary sensor in the Penny + Giles industrial range.
Penny + Giles will be launching its new robust rotary position sensor on Stand D144 at MTEC 2006.
With a 88mm diameter housing and 12mm diameter shaft, the SRH880 is the largest noncontact Hall effect rotary sensor in the Penny + Giles industrial range, providing OEMs with reliable measurement for heavy duty agricultural and utility vehicles.
Unlike potentiometric sensors, the SRH880 can operate in high dither vibration conditions with no deterioration of the sensing element.
It is not susceptible to shock and vibration, making it ideal for steering position monitoring and hydraulic lifting systems on off-highway vehicles.
It is also available with an optional stainless steel housing for applications in offshore, marine, steel production and power generation environments, and has a protection rating to IP68M.
The sensor provides an electrical output over the full 360-degree range and is launched with a 10bit resolution encoder.
A 12bit version will follow in early 2006.
For ease of configuration it is available with analogue (0.5 to 4.5V DC) or digital (pulse width modulated) signal output.
The company will also be displaying its SRH280 with a 28mm diameter housing, as well as its wide range of linear displacement sensors, rotary position sensors and noncontact ICT sensors for the industrial and manufacturing markets.
This includes its range of compact draw-wire linear sensors that provide accurate measurement in a range of strokes up to 5000mm - ideal for use where space is a constraint.
