In the past the lack of a medium-pressure peristaltic pump has meant that the majority of installations have had to overspecify the pump and use a higher-pressure unit than necessary.

In the past the lack of a medium-pressure peristaltic pump (sometimes called driven roller pumps or hose pumps) has meant that the majority of installations have had to overspecify the pump and use a higher-pressure unit than necessary This entails not just higher purchase costs but higher running costs (because the hose walls need to be thicker to withstand the higher pressure, the force needed to squash the hose has to be greater) and higher maintenance costs as the hoses wear out more quickly

It is easy to see that users can save money by specifying the correct pump for the job.

The medium-pressure range is designed to use hose of 10 to 19mm internal diameter.

Its normal working temperature is up to 80C.

Its working pressure is up to 6bar allowing flow rates up to 1040 litre/h in noncontinuous use.

It is also possible to use the pump for dosing with an accuracy of +/-1%.

Peristaltic pumps, where the liquid is squeezed through a flexible hose by the external application of a series of moving compressions, are ideal for all those applications where the liquid is too aggressive, viscous, abrasive, corrosive or precious to be handled by other types of pump.

As the liquid does not come into contact with pump these pumps are perfect for applications where crosscontamination is an issue.

Permex, with over 40 years of experience in the industry, is confident that this high quality range of pumps which are economical, easy to clean, self-priming and so versatile that some pumps can even pump liquid in either direction, will fulfil a multitude of applications.

They will be of especial interest to the paint, printing, pharmaceutical, chemical, cosmetic, agrochemical, food, mining and water-treatment industries.
