PCB material containing capacitors disposed of

A PFC Engineering product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Aug 1, 2001

PFC Engineering offers a service whereby, as part of power factor equipment replacement or refurbishment, the company will also safely dispose of any PCB materials encountered

It is illegal to store or use capacitors containing harmful pcbs.

Such capacitors were used for years in power factor correction equipment and, since this equipment is often installed for long periods, it is possible that some PCB-based capacitors are still to be located.

PFC Engineering offers a service whereby, as part of power factor equipment replacement or refurbishment, the company will also safely dispose of any PCB materials encountered.

The company points out that it is wise to have power factor correction equipment periodically tested and maintained.

Similarly, recording current power factor readings can often reveal inadequate correction measures.

In such cases, new or additional equipment may be necessary.

Again, PFC Engineering offers a site survey and evaluation service.
