The URN nut offers a fast and reliable method of mounting M6 steel threads in sheet metal components up to 1.9 mm thick
The URNA general-purpose clinch fastener nut is the latest addition to the range of rivet nuts available from pierce assembly specialist Profil UK.
Offering a fast and reliable method of mounting M6 steel threads in sheet metal components up to 1.9 mm thick, the new fastener is a highly cost-effective solution for applications requiring good dynamic, static and impact load performance in light gauge materials.
Featuring a universal rectangular nut with a circular cross section shank, the new URN nut offers an optimum balance between cost and ultimate mechanical performance.
This rivet fastener achieves push out, torque and shear load capabilities superior to traditional pierce or rivet nuts, but at a significantly lower cost.
As a result, it is an ideal choice for general fastening applications across a broad spectrum of sheet metal working applications.
URN nuts can be installed in standalone riveting operations or by using custom-developed, automatic feeding and setting equipment in-press as part of the component manufacturing process.
"The new URN nuts fill a gap in our product range for an attractively priced, general purpose sheet metal fastening system", comments Profil UK's Sales Manager, Adrian Ellis.
"Like other Profil pierce and clinch fasteners, they offer significant cost and quality advantages over traditional assembly methods".
"Unlike welded fasteners they are equally suitable for painted and coated materials and can be installed either automatically or by low-skilled operators".
