Onuoha's primary role will be to assist companies with the design, engineering and technical resources they need in order to get their new plastics-based designs and products into the marketplace.
Industrial take up of the knowhow available at the IPDC has been increasing this year, and Onuoha's expertise now further widens the portfolio of expertise on offer.
Onuoha's skills include CAD and product definition using ProEngineer Wildfire 2.0, ProModel 6.0, quality management and new product development.
He says: "I enjoy virtually every aspect of the job - contributing my bit to the success of small and medium sized enterprises".
"Meeting clients from plastics and rubber sectors and drafting out solutions to their problems fascinates me a lot".
"The job has also exposed me to the varying problems faced by companies".
Funded by the European Regional Development Fund, the Polymer Cluster is increasingly providing services in process technology, quality assurance systems and in production management and Onuoha - with spells in quality assurance and similar roles - notes that he is also playing a part in that activity.
"We are trying", he says, "to bring more awareness to companies about how they could exploit ISO9001 and other quality management tools in order to save cost, reduce rejects, improve products - and generally offer more value".
Paul Hackney, Polymer Cluster Champion, says: "We are fortunate to be able to harness the skills and enthusiasm of design engineers such as Remigus: The CAD design, tooling and prototyping resources of the IPDC at the University of Wolverhampton are more than an added bonus in this regard; they can inspire real breakthroughs and commercial success for many qualifying companies".
"I urge all product developers in the West Midlands to visit us and explore ways and means of taking advantage of our support for plastics-based innovation".
