New to the UK market and available from Paragon Alliance is the Salvio series of single-loop temperature and process controllers.

New to the UK market and available from Paragon Alliance is the Salvio series of single-loop temperature and process controllers.

The range, which covers 48 x 48, 48 x 96 and 96 x 96mm front panel formats, has an extensive range of options and according to Paragon Alliance are one of the most cost effective quality control solutions on the market today.

Two product families are available from Salvio, the Hydra series designed specifically for the majority of applications that need simple yet accurate and reliable temperature control and the Akros series offering a full and comprehensive option package for more sophisticated control requirements.

Ideal for OEMs, the Hydra series comes with a relay alarm as standard and a simple to navigate parameter setup menu.

With the product supplied in an easy configuration with just a few software parameters to set, the controller is ready to be used immediately after setting the setpoint and alarm limits.

The Hydra display area has a double four-digit display with 10 and 7mm high red and green LEDs and a four button keyboard, two "up" and "down" keys, one function key and one enter key.

Both the Hydra and the Akros product ranges have universal input, selectable by the user from a full range of thermocouple, resistance thermometer and DC linear inputs and a universal power supply from 85 to 265V AC 50/60Hz.

The Akros series, again having a relay alarm as standard, has a number of options that can be added to the basic controller.

Functions include two control outputs for heat/cool or dedicated valve motor drive control, dual alarm, re-transmission output (for connection to a recorder), a 15V DC transmitter power supply, remote setpoint input, low voltage AC/DC power supply, digital input (configurable either for keylock or dual setpoint selection) and RS485 serial communications link using modbus protocol.

The front panel, again has a double four digit display but a six button keypad providing more dedicated function selection.

The two additional keys allow tuning and auto/manual selection giving the user more direct control of the process.

There are a number of control algorithms including fuzzy logic, PID or PI+D and automatic tuning to provide optimum control of the process.

To complete the picture all products come with a three year warranty period providing complete piece of mind that you would expect with a quality manufactured product.

Typical applications for the Salvio series include furnaces, ovens, plastics processing machines, temperature control units for die fluids and in all industrial control applications that demand simplicity, optimum process control and value for money.

The full product range is available exclusively through Paragon Alliance.
