High-performance servos provide fast
acceleration

The MH and SMH families of high-performance brushless synchronous servomotors offer a wide choice of configuration options and high levels of dynamic performance.

The MH and SMH families of high-performance brushless synchronous servomotors offer a wide choice of configuration options and are aimed at applications that require high levels of dynamic performance or extremely tight synchronisation characteristics The MH series motors have 'classical' windings and are available with a very wide choice of power ratings to suit diverse applications

The SMH series motors feature special 'salient pole' windings to maximise torque, and are particularly suited to applications that demand ultra-fast acceleration and deceleration characteristics.

All MH and SMH series motors are three-phase designs that use high quality neodymium iron boron magnets, and are equipped with resolvers and winding-embedded temperature sensors to provide direct feedback to the servo drive.

MH series motors cover an exceptionally wide power range - there is a choice of 20 models in five frame sizes, spanning 56 to 205mm, with up to five different winding ratings.

Stall torques range from 0.2 to 90Nm, with peak torque ratings as high as 400Nm.

The motors have a conventional finned housing, offer a choice of flange type and shaft diameter, and are available in IP64 or IP65 rated versions if required.

The two smallest motors in the series are four-pole designs, while the 105, 145mand 205mm frame size motors have eight poles.

These three larger models can be supplied with standard, medium or high inertia rotors - which significantly eases application matching - and can optionally be equipped with shaft-driven or separately motorised cooling fans.

The 105 and 145mm motors are also available as 'EEx e' increased safety versions, for use in hazardous environments.

The SMH series motors offer a choice of 60, 82 and 100mm frame sizes, with up to three different winding ratings.

All motors in this series are 'salient pole' designs that are capable of generating up to 30% more torque than motors using conventional technology - even the smallest unit has a stall torque rating of 1.4Nm.

The motors are fitted with eight-pole rotors, and use a special thermally-conductive resin to help transfer heat away from the windings.

Different models in the series offer a choice of flange type, based on a recessed design that simplifies the installation of a gearbox, and a choice of shaft diameter, with an optional keyway.

All SMH series motors have a smooth external finish to help prevent retention of surface contamination, and are available in IP64 or IP65 rated versions which are ideal for washdown applications in the food processing industry.
