Phasa Developments is adding extra impetus to its rapidly-expanding overseas business by appointing Daiichi Jitsugyo Co Ltd (DJK) to handle sales and support for the company's plastic hot air staking assembly equipment in Japan The move signals a major push into the important Far Eastern market by the Bishops-Stortford company and follows the signing of a similar agreement with Peak Innovation GmbH to become Phasa's agent in mainland Europe

Based in Tokyo - with branch offices in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Jakarta and London, as well as subsidiaries throughout South East Asia and in the USA - DJK is a specialist engineering distributor marketing production plant, machinery and automation systems across a wide range of manufacturing industry.

With over 300 sales staff and 100 service engineers, the company has a strong presence in the Far Eastern plastics, electronics equipment, engineering, paper, power generation and pharmaceuticals sectors.

"DJK is a major supplier to leading organisations in several of our key target markets, including the automotive, domestic appliance, IT and electronics industries," comments Phasa's Business Manager, Tony Woods.

"With the globalisation of many new products, we believe DJK's skills and resources will open up numerous opportunities for our plastic hot air assembly technology in the Pacific Rim region." "We have already received serious enquiries from Toyota and Suzuki as a result of the new relationship," he continues.

"I am therefore confident that it will lead to a significant increase in export sales of us over the coming months.".
