Four suppliers of machine safety equipment are presenting a series of Interactive Machine Safety Workshops designed to assist engineers in applying current European Directives and UK regulations

In response to the need for clear, practical guidance on machine safety issues, four of the leading suppliers of machine safety equipment have joined together to present a series of Interactive Machine Safety Workshops designed to assist engineers in applying current European Directives and UK regulations to their equipment.

The workshops are presented by Laidler Associates, Health and Safety Consultants with many years of experience in machine safety, together with joint sponsors, Pilz Automation Technology, Procter Machinery Guarding and LC Automation.

The workshops are aimed at project engineers responsible for machinery, designers of safety control circuits and those responsible for ensuring machinery meets current safety regulations.

Through the use of an interactive case study the workshop provides the practical steps to be taken to achieve compliance with Machinery Directive, CE Marking and PUWER regulations.

* A description of one method of risk assessment which can be applied to equipment.

* An insight into the most common EN standards used in the mechanical and electrical design of machinery.

* An introduction to the requirements from EN standards with relation to guarding, door interlocks, light curtains and safety control systems, which will also be applied to the virtual reality machine.

* A discussion group and questions and answers session at the end of the workshop to cover any points raised by delegates.

* Responsibilities and documentation required.

The workshops will cost GBP125 and VAT per delegate including lunch and course materials and will run on the following dates: 6th September Livingston Football Club, Scotland.

27th September Pilz Automation Technology, Corby.

11th October Laidler Associates, Middlesbrough.

25th October Ford Partnership Training Centre, Southampton.

8th November Pilz Automation Technology, Corby.

22nd November Procter Machinery Guarding, Newport.

6th December Procter Machinery Guarding, Leeds.

Places will be limited to a maximum of 25 delegates per workshop in order for delegates to gain maximum benefit.

Workshops can be held in-house for companies who wish a number of employees to attend and can be tailored to suit their needs.
