New safety relays added to the PNOZ X range feature an emphasis on versatility.

New safety relays added to the PNOZ X range feature an emphasis on versatility.

A multivoltage version of the PNOZ X3P relay is being launched, and a new PNOZ X2P effectively combines the functions of the existing PNOZ X2 and X2.1 relays.

For applications where a timer is required, the new PNOZ XV1P is available in two versions, with adjustable time delays of up to 3 or 30s.

For many customers the PNOZ X3 relay has proved extremely useful across a wide variety of applications up to Category 4 of BS EN954-1, having three normally open safety contacts, a normally closed auxiliary contact and a semiconductor output that can be used, for example, to signal to a PLC.

But whereas customers previously had to order different versions to suit various power supply voltages, the new PNOZ X3P multivoltage version accepts 24-240V either AC or DC.

This makes ordering and stockholding considerably easier for machine builders who are assembling machines for export to different countries; alternatively, for machine users who have this type of safety relay installed on a variety of machines that operate on different supply voltages, spares ordering and stockholding is simplified.

The Pilz PNOZ X2 has always been one of the most cost-effective, compact relays (just 22.5mm wide) capable of meeting the requirements of Category 4 in BS EN954-1.

Suitable for use in emergency stop circuits and guard interlock applications, the relay features two normally open safety contact outputs.

Whereas the PNOZ X2 has a manual reset facility, the similar PNOZ X2.1 has an automatic reset.

However, the new PNOZ X2P unit can be configured by the installer to operate in either mode.

This assists machine builders who previously had to order different units, and machine users who were stocking different models as spares.

Two new slimline (22.5mm) timer relays are being added to the Pilz PNOZ X range, suitable for use in applications up to Category 4 of BS EN954-1.

Both versions of the PNOZ XV1P feature two instantaneous normally open safety contacts and a delay-off normally open safety contact.

One model has a time delay that is adjustable from 0.1 to 3s, whereas the other has a delay that can be adjusted from 0 to 30s.

For customers who currently use similar devices measuring 45mm wide, the new units offer a valuable saving in cabinet space.

All the new safety relays feature plug-in terminals that help to simplify installation and save time should the device ever need to be replaced.

Other features include LEDs that display the status of channel 1, channel 2 and the power supply.
