BS EN61508:2002 is a standard that many people have heard of but they do not necessarily understand how it affects them or their workplace.

BS EN61508:2002 (Functional safety of electrical/electronic/programmable electronic safety-related control systems) is a standard that many people have heard of but they do not necessarily understand how it affects them or their workplace Pilz is therefore organising a training course to take place on 27th July 2004 at its facilities in Corby, Northamptonshire

The aim of the course is to introduce BS EN61508, explain the fundamentals and, most importantly, show how the standard's principles can be applied in practice.

As part of the course, delegates are taught about concepts including safety integrity levels (SILs), personal competency, and safety lifecycles.

In addition, the complex relationship between BS EN61508 and other standards such as BS EN954 and IEC62061 is also covered, and the course would be incomplete without a review of hazard and risk analysis and its role as described in BS EN61508.

The one-day course starts at 0900 BST and ends at 1630.

Course documentation and light refreshments are included in the price of GBP 275 per delegate (plus VAT).

If companies have several delegates interested in attending, Pilz can alternatively organise on-site training and documentation packages at a cost of GBP 1300 (plus travelling expenses and VAT) for up to ten delegates.
