Pilz Automation Technology has been assessed and recognised as a City and Guilds Approved Centre for training.

Pilz Automation Technology has been assessed and recognised as a City and Guilds Approved Centre for training This is a major development for the company, which has steadily built up its training capability over the last two years by investing in new facilities and developing courses to suit the needs of managers, operatives, design engineers and maintenance staff who work in the field of machinery and process safety

In order to gain centre approval, Pilz underwent a thorough audit by City and Guilds, which the company passed comfortably.

This audit covered all aspects of the management of training, such as the quality assurance system, the scheme that ensures consistency of marking, presentation quality and internal auditing procedures.

City and Guilds approval will enable Pilz to run its modular four-day machinery safety course with the additional benefit of successful trainees achieving an industry-recognised qualification.

The course, which consists of classroom sessions, practical exercises and examinations, is believed to be the first of its type to cover the requirements of machinery safety legislation and standards in such depth.

The four-day course benefits attendees by providing them with the knowledge and skills that will help them to demonstrate a level of competency in machinery safety.

It is aimed at people who have responsibility for new or existing machinery, including designers, manufacturers, maintenance engineers and engineering/project managers.

Undertaking the course at a City and Guilds Approved Centre ensures that the qualification will also be recognised by most health and safety practitioners.
