Switches resist detergents
Magnetic switches have 5 or 10m integral cable, sealing to IP69K and Ecolab approvals for resistance to detergents.
Pilz Automation Technology is expanding its range of PSEN magnetic switches with devices that have an integral cable, sealing to IP69K and Ecolab approvals for resistance to detergents The switches are therefore suitable for use in the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries for position monitoring and machine guards, as well as for applications in which moisture ingress might otherwise cause problems

Status is indicated via LEDs on the front of the analogue input module and, if installed, via the PVIS intelligent diagnostics system and a suitable Pilz display.
Some models have Atex approval (II 3GD Eex nC T6), making them suitable for use in certain hazardous areas.
All the switches have a sensing range of 8mm and may be used in safety-related control systems conforming to category four of BS EN 954-1.
The integral cables make the switches easier to keep clean in food, beverage or pharmaceutical manufacturing environments, and the long sensing range ensures reliable operation, even if the switch and actuator become misaligned due to worn guard hinges or other mechanical components.
There are 15 models of the PSENmag magnetic switch-actuator available initially, with a choice of a 5 or 10m integral cable.
These devices can be connected individually or in series via a PSEN interface module.
