Safety systems are put to the test
Pilz has developed a structured method for inspecting the safety-critical elements of plant and machinery to enable the suitability of the safety measures to be validated.
He therefore has an in-depth understanding of factory automation and an inside knowledge of customers' requirements.
While with his previous employer, Kingston studied for his Nebosh general certificate, which supplemented his existing working knowledge of machinery safety standards.
As part of the Pilz Competency Management Scheme, however, Kingston will soon be attending the Pilz four-day City and Guilds course in machinery safety.
Pilz is currently undertaking a great many plant assessments for customers throughout the UK, so Kingston is expecting to be working on these alongside the Pilz consultants.
He will also be undertaking risk assessments and safety checks, and working with customers to CE mark machinery in accordance with the requirements of the Machinery Directive.
In addition, he will be presenting some of the Pilz training courses.
