The Viper-CamLink is a single slot, high performance acquisition and pre-processing board for the PCI bus, that allows capture from digital cameras using the industry standard Camera Link interface

Firstsight Vision has announced the Viper-CamLink, from Coreco Imaging.

It is a single slot, high performance acquisition and pre-processing board for the PCI bus, that allows capture from digital cameras using the industry standard Camera Link interface.

The Viper-CamLink is believed to be the first framegrabber to support all of the three operating modes as outlined in the Camera Link specifications: Base, Medium and Full, allowing it to acquire images from one, two, four or eight tap area and line-scan cameras in either monochrome or RGB.

It is capable of acquiring at rates up to 200 MB/second total featuring two, 32-bit wide input channels providing 8, 16 or 32-bit/pixel formats.

Like other Viper frame grabbers an optional pixel processor can provide real-time preprocessing such as flat field correction, convolution etc and can transfer images directly into the system memory of the host computer or to a Mamba embedded processing engine using the CAB transfer bus.

The Viper-CamLink supports input resolutions from 32x32 to 64kx256k pixels.

Key features * Supports wide range of digital area and line-scan multi-tap cameras.

* Enhances image transfer bandwidth beyond 132 MB/s using the CAB transfer bus.

* Dedicated hardware accelerator permits real-time image processing.

* On-board hardware based RLE, Flat-line correction.
