CMOS cameras come to the UK

Firstsight Vision has been appointed as the UK distributor for Photon Focus, providing a range of CMOS-based high-speed and smart camera systems.

Firstsight Vision has been appointed as the UK distributor for Photon Focus, providing a range of CMOS-based high-speed and smart camera systems The range of over 15 models include some of the fastest area scan cameras on the market providing both standard resolution cameras with frame rates up to 350frame/s and megapixel cameras with full frame rates of up to 160frame/s

The CMOS implementation has a number of key features not found in standard cameras, such as region-of-interest readout enabling frame rates of up to 1180frame/s, and Linlog technology providing up to 120dB of dynamic range, ideal for applications such as traffic analysis.

The cameras are available with Camera Link and LVDS interfaces with some slower models also offering an analogue interface.

In addition to the traditional cameras, the range also includes a PC-based smart camera.

Measuring only 80 x 55 x 145mm the PC Cam features a 1k x 1k 100frame/s CMOS sensor and a Pentium III 700MHz processor.

Many different software toolkits are supported, including Common Vision Blox, the market leading machine vision development environment which is available from Firstsight Vision, and the operating system can be chosen from Win XP, Linux and VXWorks.

Firstsight Vision offers a comprehensive range of cabling and interface solutions for these cameras with inbuilt pixel and fixed pattern correction essential when building an optimised system based around CMOS technology. Request a free brochure from Firstsight Vision ...
