Dome lights cut machine vision reflections

A Stemmer Imaging product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jan 7, 2005

The LDM Dome produces light in such a way that confusing light reflections are reduced to a minimum for machine vision applications.

Any product that has a multifaceted/curved reflective surface is generally very difficult to illuminate as multiple highlights and internal reflections are produced.

The LDM Dome produces light in such a way that confusing light reflections are reduced to a minimum.

This is achieved by using an internal conical diffuser that provides shadowless light from virtually every angle.

Typical applications include: concave aluminium cans, foil food packaging and ball bearings etc.

The LDM Dome light uses patented heat dissipation material that carries the heat away from the LEDs thus prolonging the life of the light, increasing its efficiency and stabilising the light output.

The LDM lights are available in red, green, blue and white, and as with all the CCS Illumination range, custom colours are available on request.
