Firstsight offers vision for compact PCs

A Stemmer Imaging product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Sep 9, 2008

Firstsight Vision is offering a range of 'Image Station Compact' PCs equipped with everything needed for a complete PC-based machine vision system in an ultra-compact housing.

The small dimensions and modular design of these systems make them ideal for use in machine vision applications in confined spaces and ensure easy integration of PC components.

All models are assembled and tested at Firstsight Vision's parent company Stemmer Imaging in Germany to customer specifications, and they can be supplied complete with Stemmer Imaging's Common Vision Blox imaging toolkit.

These PCs can be equipped with different CPUs and all models use Windows as standard, but can also be run with other operating systems if required.

Standard interfaces include two gigabit Ethernet, six USB 2.0, three RS232 and one RS232/422/485 interface.

Frame grabbers from a variety of performance classes can be used in the free PCI slot, enabling a wide selection of individual cameras to be used.

Image Station Compact PCs offer excellent heat dissipation, which allows them to run at processor clock speeds of up to 2.16GHz without a fan.

Intel Core 2 Duo (T7400), CoreDuo (T2500) and Celeron M (440) processors with an Intel 945GME chipset are currently supported.
