Stemmer to demonstrate camera technology

A Stemmer Imaging product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jan 13, 2009

Stemmer Imaging will be illustrating its range of camera technology at the Vision Technology Exhibition (VTX).

This includes a colour line scan camera and 3D laser scanning camera, together with Common Vision Blox (CVB), a hardware independent toolkit, which offers versatility in camera interfacing.

Stemmer Imaging will be showing the Spyder 3 Colour CameraLink line scan camera from Dalsa for the first time at VTX.

This camera is based on the established Spyder 3 dual-line-scan monochrome model.

The red and blue colour pixels alternate in one line and all the green pixels are in the other line, with no spacing between the lines.

The camera offers several colour output format options, including RGB, RG/BG, or G only.

Also on show will be the C3 range of robust laser scanning cameras for 3D imaging applications from Automation Technology.

On-board FPGA pre-processing of the raw image data enables the C3 3D cameras to provide previously unattainable frame rates for 3D inspection, measurement and sorting.

The company will also demonstrate the latest version of CVB.

This version not only provides the capability to interface to any camera output, including Firewire, CameraLink and GigE, but also includes the GigE Vision server, which allows the computer to behave like a complete GigE Vision and GenIcam compatible camera, with configurable features.

This allows GigE Vision to be used in standards-based distributed imaging applications.

In addition, CVB now features algorithms for capturing and comparing 3D objects and their surfaces for real-time comparison of 3D-image data from a good object to data from test objects.
