Stemmer Imaging has announced that the GigE uEye high-end (HE) industrial cameras from IDS now have added functionality.
The GigE uEye HE industrial camera range is said to be suitable for sophisticated, complex machine vision and image-processing applications.
The introduction of the uEye 3.30 driver provides increased support of many hardware and software features.
The range features 18 models, including both monochrome and colour versions, with resolutions from VGA (640 x 480 pixels) through WVGA (CCIR/PAL), XGA, SXGA, UXGA to QSXGA (2560 x 1920 pixels).

The driver provides support for both Windows Vista and the onboard serial interface.
The camera's RS232 interface, seen from the PC as a standard COM port, enables control of peripheral devices such as a lens, a pan/tilt unit or a lighting controller.
The driver also provides enhanced support for Genicam, with optimised internal image acquisition and the facility for image processing in the HE camera hardware to allow, for example, in-camera conversion from raw Bayer format to RGB and YUV formats.
In addition, there are now new pixel formats, customisable hardware LUT, additional sub-sampling and binning modes (which can achieve up to 50 per cent higher frame rates), display of sensor test images and new API functions.
A new RGBY format allows the simultaneous transmission of both an RGB and a monochrome image.
All HE models are claimed to offer back-focus adjustment on the lens mount allowing precision alignment for C-mount zoom optics.
The cameras' symmetrical housing allows mounting at 90/180 degrees, without the need for new holders.
