Stemmer distributes Xenics infrared cameras

A Stemmer Imaging product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jun 4, 2009

Stemmer Imaging has signed an agreement with infrared camera manufacturer, Xenics, for exclusive UK distribution of its cameras for industrial and system integration applications.

The extended wavelength imaging capabilities offered by Xenics cameras is achieved through the use of a variety of IR detectors, including InGaAs that offers a spectral range of 0.9-1.7um, 1.0-2.2um and 1.0-2.5um.

Cameras are available with various resolution and frame rate options.

A wide variety of linear detector arrays for linescan imaging are also available.

Stemmer Imaging UK sales and marketing director, Mark Williamson, said: 'The use of infrared cameras can provide opportunities for high-speed detection of abnormalities in product size, form or content, or surface defects that could not be detected by cameras operating in the visible range of the spectrum.

'Continuous, real-time and on-line infrared imaging provides an extremely important monitoring and control tool for production and plant processes, helping to cut costs and increase productivity and quality,' he added.

The Xenics range of industrial infrared cameras and detectors are designed to offer high accuracy, high repeatability and high reliability.

They can be used to assist in controlling and steering mechanical and computerised manufacturing equipment such as conveyor belts, machine tools and robot arms.

The availability of popular Ethernet, Cameralink and USB 2.0 data transfer interfaces allows integration into existing process control systems.
