The Xenics XLIN 1.7 SWIR/NIR linescan camera from Stemmer Imaging is designed for use in a host of industrial applications.

These include online process control, web inspection, food inspection, agricultural monitoring, non-destructive inspection, pollution and environmental monitoring, moisture measurement and semiconductor process monitoring.

The Xenics XLIN 1.7 SWIR/NIR linescan camera from Stemmer Imaging is designed for use in a host of industrial applications.

In addition, it can be used for the thermal imaging of hot objects between 200C and 800C.

The XLIN 1.7 series features InGaAs linear photodiode arrays, produced in house at Xenics, with a choice of 128-, 256- or 512-pixel resolution.

InGaAs sensors are cost effective to manufacture and allow small camera dimensions.

Operating over a wavelength range of 0.9 microns to 1.7 microns, the sensors offer excellent linearity and low noise performance.

The sensors are equipped with a third-generation multiplexer that reduces the dark current of the device, allowing longer integration times.

Peltier cooling with a temperature stabilisation circuit is optionally available to allow even greater integration times.

They come in a hermetically sealed package with anti-reflection coated windows, ensuring their suitability for industrial applications.

The camera is available in USB 2.0 and Cameralink data transfer versions, with line rates up to 3KHz over USB and up to 9KHz over Cameralink, subject to the computer performance.

The camera is delivered with X-Control software that offers direct access to various camera settings such as exposure time, gain settings and operating temperature.

It also allows data acquisition and display to be set to 12 bit or 16 bit.
