Stemmer Imaging has announced the addition of the Sony EVI-HD7V and EVI-HD3V high-definition (HD) models to its camera range for professional AV, broadcast and videoconferencing.

The EVI-HD7V offers a high HD resolution (1080/60p) and both cameras offer a host of standard features such as 10x optical zoom, autofocus, 70-degree field-of-view and fast, versatile pan/tilt movement.

The EVI-HD7V cameras offers resolution from VGA right up to 1080x60 pixels with full HD support for high-performance conferencing

The cameras utilise CMOS technology and offer good price/performance, backed by Sony's reputation for image quality and reliability.

The EVI-HD3V offers image resolution from VGA to 720/60p for HD quality over optimised bandwidth, while the EVI-HD7V offers resolution from VGA right up to 1080/60p with full HD support for high-performance conferencing.

There is a DVI-I video I/F for both digital and analogue signals to support migration to HD.

In addition, Y/Cb/Cr and RGB outputs can be selected.

The pan/tilt mechanism of the EVI-HD7V/HD3V is quiet and moves smoothly and quickly, using the same direct drive motor system as employed on Sony's EVI-HD1 camera.

There is also a fast zoom capability with good autofocus.

Camera settings and pan, tilt and zoom functions can be selected remotely via the reliable VISCA (RS-232C) interface using an optional remote control.

A high-quality joystick provides smooth control of a variety of parameters including auto exposure and focus.

The remote control unit features 16 presets and can be used to control up to seven cameras.

These versatile cameras are suitable for use in a host of applications.

For videoconferencing, they are compatible with a range of codecs, including Sony, Polycom, Lifesize, Tandberg and Vaddio.

They can therefore be used as the primary camera of choice in either a new installation or as a second/third room camera or even a replacement camera in an existing installation.

They can also be used in a range of broadcast/AV applications, including training, distance learning and telemedicine.
