Pittman Europe has appointed Romsey-based Cetronic as a PittmanExpress distributor to market and support its full range of brushed and brushless motors, gearboxes and encoders in the UK.
Pittman Europe has appointed Romsey-based motion control supplier Cetronic as a PittmanExpress distributor to market and support its full range of brushed and brushless motors, gearboxes and encoders in the UK.
Cetronic is the main UK distributor for MAE, the Italian stepper and servomotor manufacturer and following MAE's recent acquisition by Pittman's parent company, Penn Engineering, the appointment was a natural one benefiting both companies.
Cetronic will be offering all products from MAE and Pittman who together form the Penn Engineering Motion Technologies Division.
Cetronic has been a leading UK motion control distributor for more than 30 years and recently moved to a new facility in Romsey where it provides distribution and technical support for a wide range of motion products from leading global manufacturers.
The product range includes stepper and servomotors, drives and motion controllers, spur gearboxes, planetary gearboxes and encoders.
"We aim to build on the synergy that already exists between our companies through the MAE acquisition, to offer our customers more solutions from one source with a broader range of products and comprehensive application support", says John McKay, Pittman European Sales Director.
PittmanExpress is the new rapid reaction stock product programme offering ex-stock delivery of over 100 branded Pittman brushed DC and brushless DC motors as well as geared motors and encoder-based units with a same day/next day delivery service.
Customers can choose from Lo-Cog brushed DC motors and gearmotors or the Elcom range of brushless DC motors in slotted and slotless designs.
Many geared motor and encoder variants are available to meet the increasing demands of the specialist machine builder where such fast response times can be critical to product development programmes.
The PittmanExpress fast delivery programme is operated throughout Europe from several locations with appointed distributors able to offer specialist application support.
A new 32-page catalogue covers the complete range and includes application specific information.
Most PittmanExpress motors and geared motors include precision ball bearings and high torque gears.
Motor-encoder units feature the new Pittman Rose optical encoder type or the Agilent HEDS 9140 type.
Custom modifications to PittmanExpress motors including alternative brush materials, encoder resolutions, and EMI/RFI suppression networks are available within days.
