Brushed DC motor applications requiring extended life, high reliability and reduced audible noise are targeted with Pittman Lo-Cog 14000 series motors and gear motors.

These motors benefit from an integrated cartridge brush assembly known as the "SuperBrush" that features a specially designed system with torsion spring assemblies to ensure constant brush force over the life of a motor.

The unique cartridge style assembly fits into the motor base and consists of a two-piece snap-together assembly, moulded in high temperature plastic in which each of two brushes is seated securely within its own individual slot.

Copper graphite brushes are included as standard for excellent life characteristics at competitive cost with optional higher performance alternatives such as electrographitic being available for an even more prolonged brush life.

All 14000 series motors and gear motors diamond turned commutators for optimum concentricity and resin-impregnated windings for greater reliability in incremental motion applications.

With 11-slot skewed armatures for negligible magnetic cogging, precise control and smooth operation, these competitively priced motors have demonstrated a first-rate performance for a wide range of motion control applications including computer peripherals, imaging systems and medical diagnostics.

The range is part of the PittmanExpress fast delivery programme available in 12 and 24V versions.

The standard range consists of seven length variants with speeds up to 4230rev/min and continuous torque output to 350mNm.

All models can be supplied with the Pittman E35A Rose encoder for position feedback applications.

GM14000 series gear motors are available with a wide range of ratios and can provide continuous torque to 3530mNm.

Thanks to their modular construction, the 14000 series can be customised to carefully match speed, voltage, current, and torque characteristics to meet specific needs.

Other special configurations are available to specific application requirements such as special encoders, custom adapter plates, timing belt drives, brakes, cables, connectors, modified shafts and RFI suppression.
