Rugged twist to network connectors

The Variosub-RJ45/IP67 connector is a reliable and cost-effective method of connecting network services to equipment which is required to operate in demanding environments.

The tough new Variosub-RJ45/IP67 connector from interconnect expert, Phoenix Contact, provides a convenient, reliable and cost-effective method of connecting telecommunication, Ethernet and other network services to equipment which is required to operate in demanding environments To maximise versatility, and to ensure compatibility with existing crimp tools, the new connector uses the industry-standard RJ45 configuration

It has, however, an exceptional IP67 ingress protection rating, which means that it can operate reliably even if it is exposed to high-pressure water jets.

Phoenix Contact's Variosub-RJ45/IP67 connector offers excellent electrical performance to complement its rugged construction.

It incorporates complex shielding which guards against signal corruption in poor electromagnetic environments, and it fully meets the Class D, Cat 5 requirements of EN50173:2001 for use in Fast Ethernet systems operating at up to 100Mbit/s.

For complete security in operation, the connector incorporates an integral clamp which retains it securely in place when it is fully mated, yet allows easy disconnection when required.

The connector also incorporates a cable strain relief system, and is equally suitable for use with rigid and flexible conductors.

The new connectors are fully compatible with standard RJ45 products, although when used in this way, the IP67 rating is not maintained.

Nevertheless, this versatility is a major benefit during testing and fault-finding, as it allows temporary connections to be made using ordinary test leads. Request a free brochure from Phoenix Contact ...
