A new 16-channel front adapter brings fast, easy, error-free wiring to all commonly used I/O modules for the Siemens S7-300 range of PLCs.

A new 16-channel front adapter, the latest addition to Phoenix Contact's convenient Varioface cabling system for programmable logic controller (PLC) inputs and outputs, means that the system's benefits of fast, easy, error-free wiring, are now extended to cover all commonly used input and output (I/O) modules for the Siemens S7-300 range of PLCs.

The new FLKM 14-PA-S300 adapter simply pushes into place on the front of the I/O module, and then allows standard plug-in multicore cables to be used to link the module to a DIN-rail mounted interface module.

Varioface interface modules are available in an exceptionally wide range of types, from versions which simply provide screw or spring-clamp terminals for the connection of external devices, to sophisticated versions which provide isolation and signal conditioning.

Multicore cables for linking front adaptors to interface modules are available in standard lengths from 0.5 to 10m, in 0.5m increments, and can be supplied in other lengths to order.

The cables are offered in both screened and unscreened versions.

Intended specifically for use with 16-channel digital I/O modules and various analogue I/O modules in the Siemens Simatic S7-300 range, the new FLKM 14-PA-S300 front adapters complement Phoenix Contact's existing Varioface 32-channel front adapters for the S7-300, providing users of these versatile PLCs with a complete, cost-effective and time-saving I/O wiring solution.

In addition to products designed for use with Simatic S7-300 and other PLCs from Siemens, Phoenix Contact offers equipment in the Varioface range for use with many other popular types of PLC, including models from Allen Bradley, ABB, Modicon, Mitsubishi, B and R, GE-Fanuc, Philips and Satt Control.
