I/O system has all fieldbuses covered

The versatile Phoenix Contact Inline input/output system has now been extended to allow its use with all popular fieldbus systems, from AS-i to Ethernet.

The versatile Phoenix Contact Inline input/output system has now been extended to allow its use with all popular fieldbus systems, from AS-i to Ethernet This means that all fieldbus users now have access to the enormous variety of compact input/output module options available in the Inline range, and that system designers now have complete freedom to choose the best fieldbus for each application, without having concerns about the availability of suitable I/O modules

Inline systems comprise a collection of slim DIN-rail mounting I/O modules, chosen to meet the user's requirements, which are connected to the fieldbus system by means of a coupler module.

The same rugged I/O modules are used with all types of fieldbus - all that changes is the type of coupler module used.

System design is, therefore, simplified, and the amount of spares stock which end users need to carry is greatly reduced.

Among the most recent additions to the Inline range is a new Ethernet coupler with an integrated web server, which enables fully deterministic Inline I/O systems to be linked directly to Ethernet networks.

Couplers are also available, which allow Inline systems to be integrated easily with Modbus/TCP, Interbus, Profibus, DeviceNet, CANopen and AS-i networks.

Whatever the protocol used, Inline systems offer reliable operation in even the toughest industrial environments, and also provide powerful diagnostic facilities which simplify commissioning and, in the event of a fault, help to keep costly plant downtime to a minimum.

I/O modules in the Phoenix Contact Inline range are available for use with digital signals from 24 to 230V, analogue signals in all standard ranges, and in power level versions which can, for example, be used to switch three-phase motors directly.

All types feature plug-in connectors for fast installation and wiring, and all automatically make power and data connections to adjacent modules, completely eliminating the need for wired links. Request a free brochure from Phoenix Contact ...
