Power supplies keep a low profile

All products in the new Step-Power range of switch-mode power supplies from Phoenix Contact feature extra-low-profile housings which are less than 58mm deep.

All products in the new Step-Power range of switch-mode power supplies from Phoenix Contact feature extra-low-profile housings which are less than 58mm deep, making them easy to accommodate in shallow enclosures, such as those frequently used for distribution boards and operator control panels In addition, the new units offer a current reserve of up to 100% to ensure reliable starting, and they feature outputs that are fully protected against overloads and short circuits

Step-Power power supplies can be supplied in versions with outputs of 5V at 4A, 12V at 3A, 15V at 2.4A, 24V at 1.5A or 48V at 0.75A, which means that they are suitable for use in virtually every automation application.

Where larger output currents are required, the supplies may be operated in parallel without derating.

All types are suitable for operation from AC inputs in the range 85 to 264V at 45 to 65Hz, or from DC inputs in the range 110 to 350V, without the need for adjustment or setting.

Momentary interruptions of the input, up to a maximum duration of 20ms, have no effect on the output.

This feature, combined with the wide input voltage tolerance, makes these units well suited for use with poor-quality power sources, such as those derived from standby generators.

Designed for easy mounting direct onto a standard DIN rail, Phoenix Contact's new Step-Power low-profile power supplies incorporate LED indicators to provide instant visual confirmation of incoming power and overload status.

They offer high operating efficiency, which ensures cool running, and an output ripple of 100mV peak-to-peak or better, allowing them to be used to power even sensitive loads.

Power supplies in the Step-Power range comply fully with all relevant European standards and, in addition, they carry both UL and C-UL approvals.

They are, therefore, suitable for use anywhere in the world and, as such, are particularly well matched to the needs of OEMs and others who produce equipment for export. Request a free brochure from Phoenix Contact ...
