Matching AS-i field wiring to the precise requirements of the application, and providing AS-i I/O facilities within control panels, are made even easier by the latest AS-i products from Phoenix Contact, all of which are designed to enhance the versatility of the popular and easy-to-use AS-i field wiring system.

To provide greater flexibility in the arrangement of AS-i field wiring, Phoenix Contact is offering a five-way distribution block.

The block connects to standard flat AS-i main and power cables using an insulation-displacement connector, and provides five M12 sockets for the connection of peripherals, using inexpensive round cables.

The input/output devices can be connected direct to the distribution blocks, or via Phoenix Contact's S-Line modules which provide further sockets for I/O connections.

When S-Line modules are used, up to 40 I/O devices can be connected to the AS-i system via a single distribution block, providing exceptional versatility and economy.

For applications where it is necessary to connect motor starters and other control panel devices to an AS-i system, Phoenix Contact is offering ME line input/output modules.

These compact DIN-rail mounting units are available in two versions.

The first offers four digital input channels, while the other provides four digital inputs plus three digital outputs.

Modules with output facilities can accept auxiliary power connections, and connections to all of the modules in the range are colour-coded to aid speedy wiring, and to reduce the risk of wiring errors.

LED status indicators are provided for each I/O channel, and the modules feature an integral diagnostic system which reports fault conditions to the AS-i master.

Phoenix Contact's ME line AS-i I/O modules are fully compatible with the extended AS-i addressing system, which means that up to 62 I/O channels can be accommodated on a single AS-i cable.

A standard addressing socket makes setup fast and straightforward.
