Expansion for industrial connector range

A Phoenix Contact product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Mar 12, 2003

The extensive and popular Pluscon range now features IP67-rated connectors for virtually every power and data application in industry.

The addition of new sensor/actuator boxes, heavy-duty RJ45 connectors and power connectors with metal housings to Phoenix Contact's Pluscon range means that this extensive and popular range now features IP67-rated connectors for virtually every power and data application in industry.

The new additions, like all products in the Pluscon range, are designed to meet the needs of OEMs, panel builders and other connector users for a convenient, single source of supply for connectors which combine value for money and ease of use with the ability to operate reliably in tough industrial environments.

The new Pluscon sensor/actuator boxes feature robust metal housings, which provide excellent EMC shielding, and are available with four, six or eight M12 sockets.

Phoenix Contact also offers a wide variety of matching cables so that sensor and actuator wiring is reduced to fast, simple plug-in operation.

The boxes are available with integral master cables, or for use with master cables that have an M23 connector.

Also new in the Pluscon range are IP67-rated RJ45 connectors, which are ideal for use in Ethernet applications.

Suitable for Cat5 cabling, these products meet the requirements of IAONA for use in heavy-duty environments, and they incorporate a high level of EMC shielding.

The connectors require no additional protection once installed, and can be wired using standard RJ45 crimp tools.

For power applications, Phoenix Contact has added Heavycon-Advance connectors to the Pluscon range.

Designed to provide an economical solution where plugging and unplugging is infrequent, Heavycon-Advance connectors are typically secured in place with screws against the outside wall of a control enclosure.

This arrangement eliminates the need for costly retaining mechanisms, and allows more circuits to be accommodated in a given size of housing.
