Through-panel terminals ease field wiring

A Phoenix Contact product story

Invertek Drives has adopted Phoenix Contact's unique through-panel terminals in its latest products, to provide convenient and reliable connections for external wiring.

Invertek Drives, one of the UK's leading developers and manufacturers of AC variable speed drives, has adopted Phoenix Contact's unique through-panel terminals in its latest products, to provide convenient and reliable connections for external wiring.

The new terminals, which are available in sizes to suit cables from 0.2 to 95mm2, feature a two-part design, and fit through a hole in the enclosure wall.

They eliminate the inconvenience and assembly time associated with using external terminals, while providing greater reliability than unsightly "chocolate-block" connectors.

"The performance of our drives is world class", said Charles Haspel, Operations Director of Invertek, "and we naturally we want their appearance to match their performance.

Phoenix Contact's through-panel terminals, the only ones of their type on the market, have helped us to achieve this".

"That's far from being the only benefit we get from these terminals", continued Haspel.

"Their easy-fit, push-together, two-part design keeps assembly time to a minimum and, above all, the terminals are of excellent quality, ensuring the high level of reliability which we insist upon for all components used in our products".

Through-panel terminals from Phoenix Contact have convenient screw-clamp connections for external wiring.

For the connection of wiring within the panel, options available include screw clamps, solder tags, push-on tabs, wire-wrap pins and Termipoint spills.

Dual-entry terminals, which accommodate two external connections in separate clamps, are also featured in the range, together with earth terminals and fused terminals.

All types feature compact construction, ensuring maximum connection density, and are supplied as single-pole units which can be mounted side-by-side to provide any required number of connections.
