The new Clipline WireMark system takes the data it needs to print cable markers direct from project planning and CAD packages, ensuring that the cable marking process is fast and error-free.

The system also sizes the markers to suit cables from 0.5 to 6.0mm2, and automatically fits them to the cable.

The whole marking process is completed in less than 3s per cable end, compared with a typical time of 15s per end for conventional markers.

This means a saving well in excess of 3h for every 1000 ends marked, producing significant cost savings, particularly in larger projects Compatible with both flexible and rigid cables, and with all commonly used types of cable insulation, the WireMark system produces markers which fully encircle the cable, ensuring that they are retained securely in place.

The markers can, however, be readily reoriented for ease of reading, and can be rapidly re-positioned should it become necessary, for example, to shorten or reterminate a cable.

The WireMark system from Phoenix Contact comprises a compact machine that prints and applies the markers in a single operation.

It incorporates a large colour display screen that shows both machine status and details of the legend being printed, and it features a serial interface that allows easy linking to a PC for downloading legend data.

Markers produced by the system have a flat printed surface that ensures maximum legibility, even when used on cables of small cross section, and the printing inks used are highly resistant to smudging.

The markers carry full CE, UL and CSA approvals, making them suitable for use in almost every country of the world.
