Factory Line FL IF 2FX SM SC-D two-port interface modules from Phoenix Contact, which can be used with the company's Modular Managed Switch, enable single-mode glass fibre links up to 36km Single-mode fibres are generally used in traffic engineering, such as railway and airport technology, but can be used for many other long distance applications

The Modular Managed Switch (MMS) eliminates the need for separate media convertors in these applications through the use of pluggable, single-mode glass fibre interfaces.

This saves both space and money: a glass-fibre port costs 30% less than the combination of a switch with a TX port and media convertors.

The MMS from Phoenix Contact is a powerful, management-capable switch platform that offers SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) and an integrated web server for configuration and diagnostic purposes.
