Polymer and HCS fibre networks are now available for Fast Ethernet.

Polymer and HCS fibre networks are now available for Fast Ethernet The new FL IF TX/POF 10/100-D and FL IF TX/HCS 100-D interface modules have a twisted pair port with RJ45 plugs and a fibre optic port with easy-to-assemble FSMA plugs

The economical and field-tested polymer and HCS fibre technology is much simpler to assemble and install than standard fibre optic solutions.

The interface modules are adapted to the specific connection requirements, including port number, plug and transmission medium, and are plugged into the modular switches of the Factory Line series.

This allows for HCS lines up to 100m and polymer fibre lines up to 50m.

Pluggable HCS interfaces enable switch structures to be supported by an HCS backbone.

For remote end-device connections, the combined TX/POF module can also be used as a stand-alone device on the new FL CB IF convertor board.

It supports autonegotiation and converts any 10/100 twisted pair Ethernet interfaces on end devices to polymer fibre.
