Power supplies carry ATEX approvals
For use in potentially explosive areas designated Zone 2, Phoenix Contact has launched two Quint power supplies and a Quint diode redundancy module.
The use of power supplies with high operational reliability increases the availability of the overall system.
Redundant systems also minimise downtime, with two power supplies connected in parallel each dimensioned so that the overall power requirement of all consumers can be covered by a single device.
If the system availability is to be increased even further, the logical solution is to use a diode redundancy module.
Then even if a short circuit were to occur at the output of one of the power supplies, the second automatically takes over the task of supplying the consumers, thus ensuring an uninterrupted power supply.
The DIN rail mounted module is fast to install, handles currents up to 60A and operates in ambient temperatures in the Ex areas of -25 to +60C.
