Analogue input modules go on show
Phoenix Contact will be showing its new range of Mini MCR analogue modules at the Instrumentation Scotland and Offshore Systems Exhibition, Aberdeen, 8-9th September 2004.
This means the modules are suitable for installation in Ex-Zone 2.
What's more, sensors and actuators from Ex-Zone 1 that fulfill the explosion protection category 2 G but are not listed in the "intrinsically safe" explosion protection type can also be connected.
This is, for example, true of PT100 resistance thermometers.
As a result of their compact design and power bridging option using DIN rail bus connectors, MINI MCR analogue signal convertors can be efficiently installed in decentralised signal distributor boxes directly at the transition point between Ex zone 1 and Ex zone 2.
This ensures that sensor cable lengths are kept to a minimum and the signals are amplified meaning transmission reliability is substantially increased.
