The FL Switch SFN has a compact housing suitable for universal, localised use in control cabinets and in terminal boxes.
The SF standard switch family in the Factory Line range from Phoenix Contact now includes additional infrastructure components.
The new FL Switch SFN allows fast and cost-effective network expansion up to field level.
Their compact housing makes the components suitable for universal, localised use in control cabinets and in terminal boxes.
The switches have five or eight RJ-45 ports.
The components support auto-negotiation functionality at transmission rates of 10, 100, and 1000Mbit/s in mixed mode.
This function allows the coupling of network segments or end devices with identical or differing data transmission rates.
The auto-crossing function renders a differentiation between 1:1 and crossover types of cable superfluous.
The switches automatically detect the assignment of the Ethernet cables and adjust accordingly.
Using the fibre-optic cable ports, a network's segment length can be extended up to 20km, particularly in rough terrain.
Unoccupied ports of the switch can be mechanically locked to guard against unauthorised use.
Occupied ports meet LAN Security Level 1, as they can also be locked to guard against unauthorised removal of network connections.
