The RAD-ISM-2400-DATA-BD radio module for serial interfaces from Phoenix Contact allows several controllers or other serial peripheral devices to be wirelessly networked with each other easily and quickly.

Trusted Wireless technology ensures that data is transmitted securely and reliably at a range of up to 2km, even in harsh industrial environments.

As the wireless communication operates in the 2.4GHz ISM frequency band, the devices can be used without a license.

The module is configured as a master, slave, or a store-and-forward repeater slave using the accompanying installation software.

This enables various networks with simple single-hop topologies and a few devices, as well as networks with complex multi-hop topologies and 254 devices, to be set up using only one device type.

In a multi-hop network it is the task of the repeater slaves to connect other devices with the master.

An additional advantage is that data can also be received and transmitted from these stations.

Roaming helps to make the communication of data more secure.

Roaming allows the end devices in a network, which are connected with the master via a repeater slave, to search for a new repeater slave that will reconnect them with the master if the wireless connection is broken.

The device status and quality of the wireless connection can be easily read from a LED on site.

In addition, the zero-voltage RF link contact and the analogue RSSI signal facilitate remote monitoring.

Data for all the network devices, such as the status of the wireless connection, RSSI signal, or supply voltage, can be conveniently monitored a PC or laptop.
