New PAT Appreciation Course launched

A Portable Appliance Safety Services product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team May 9, 2007

Portable Appliance Safety Services (PASS) has launched a new course.

Portable Appliance Safety Services (PASS) - the experts in PAT testing training, has launched a new course called "The PAT Testing Appreciation Course".

This course is a 1/2 day training course designed for those who would like to carry out pat testing using basic PAT Testing equipment.

The new generation of basic and affordable automatic PAT testers now available has lead to an increase in demand for the new course.

Leading PAT tester manufacturers such as Seaward and Kewtech have simplified the whole pat testing process with their hand-held automatic testers.

This automated process has resulted in a reduction in the amount of training required to be able to carry out testing successfully when using these new simplified testers.

"These testers are great for Maintenance Staff, Schools and Colleges, Charities, Care Homes and Health and Safety personnel".

"We have taken some of the elements from or One Day Professional Testing course and implemented them into the 1/2 day course".

"The course has then been adapted around the new basic testers, such as the Primetest 100 and Kewtech 71".

"It is ideal for those who only have a few items to test or anyone who just wants to know a bit more about PAT testing".

Austin Daly -Training Manager.

The course covers basic principles such as: o Legal Obligations.

o Visual Inspections.

o How to test Class 1 appliances.

o How to test Class 2 appliances.

o Recording test results.

o Practical session.

The course also includes a practical testing session using the Seaward Primetest 100 and Primetest 50 models and the Kewtech KT71 model of PAT tester.

Delegates get to test a number of items and identify faulty appliances.

This course is ideal for those who want to carry out testing internally for their company or those with smaller testing needs.

Delegates will receive a certificate of attendance on completion of the course.
