Lean manufacturing message in Grimsby
The Process Industries Centre for Manufacturing Excellence (PICME) will take its lean manufacturing message to the Europarc Innovation Centre, Grimsby on Tuesday 17th May 2005.

PICME is supporting the 12th European Fine Chemicals conference at the Manchester United Stadium on 1st and 2nd December 2005.
Presentations from Senior PICME Engineer, Michael Glass, and PICME Engineer, Sarah Redfern will also be given and the latter will focus on the operational excellence being achieved at PICME client, Akzo Nobel.
The event starts at 1030 BST and finishes at 1500 BST.
The focus for the day will be on what successful companies do to increase their manufacturing performance using lean and agile manufacturing ideas.
Other presenters on 17th May will include Yorkshire Forward, Humber Chemical Focus, Crystal Faraday and AJM Consulting.
PICME's last seminar - in association with Scottish Enterprise - sold out in Glasgow, Scotland on Tuesday 15th March.
Dr Glyn Hughes, PICME Associate and Humber Chemical Focus CEO says: "The business case for this work is unarguable - a message that many companies are increasingly taking to heart".
PICME research shows that despite good progress over the last 3 years the UK's chemicals and process industry still needs to increase its use of the lean manufacturing approach to make its manufacturing globally competitive.
Most enterprises in UK chemicals manufacturing could still benefit from working that bit "smarter".
