Balston 2000-series coalescing compressed air filters from Parker are fully compliant with the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) 97/23/EC.

Balston 2000-series coalescing compressed air filters from Parker are fully compliant with the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) 97/23/EC.

This means that Parker's range of Balston filters will display the CE mark when required under the provisions of PED.

2000-series coalescing compressed air filters are designed for applications to 17bar, which puts them within the scope of the PED.

The PED encompasses most items of pressure equipment with a maximum operating pressure greater than 0.5bar intended to be sold within the European Union.

The directive harmonises different national laws from member states, and aims to remove technical barriers to trade.

Design, manufacture and conformity assessment of pressure equipment across all member states, from 29th May, will be to the same standard.

Assemblies and equipment must display the CE mark when they are beyond a set pressure and/or volume threshold, to signify their compliance with the PED.

The CE mark, however, does not signify that a filter has reached any performance standard; however users of the 2000-series can be assured of clean compressed air.

2000-series filters can remove 99.9999+% of water, dirt and oil - this is enough to remove bacteria and provide commercially sterile air.

The filter cartridge removes any liquid in the air supply and the 2000-series provides a number of different drain options to suit particular applications.

Bayonet closure makes maintenance quick and easy with no need for tools.

In applications that require multistage filtration, the 2000-series' modular fitting provides the benefit of a space saving easy to install option.

The PED compliant 2000-series forms part of the range of compressed air treatment products from Parker which offer cleaner, drier air for compressed air users.
