Easy disposal for novel filter elements

A Parker Hannifin - Filter Division product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Sep 1, 2003

Multiflow tank-top mounted return line filters for industrial and mobile applications feature Parker's patented LEIF (low environmental impact filter) elements.

Parker Filtration has further extended its tank-mounted hydraulic filter range with the introduction of the new and innovative Multiflow Size 1, 2 and 3 tank-top mounted return line filters for industrial and mobile applications, that feature Parker's patented LEIF (low environmental impact filter) elements and optional reusable conversion sleeve (chimney).

Today, environmental responsibility is essential.

A contaminated filter element is often classified as chemical waste, resulting in high disposal costs for end users when changing filters.

Parker Arlon recognised the growing importance of low environmental impact filters and developed and patented the LEIF concept.

By re-using the metal sleeve, the LEIF element no longer lands in waste disposal.

Only the contaminated filter media have to be disposed of as chemical waste.

The weight of the disposed media is small and oil can be simply removed from the element, resulting in an even lower weight and volume.

Depending on the circumstances, the disposal and processing costs can be reduced by 50% and, as a result, lower cost of ownership can be realised.

Parker has now incorporated this unique filter element into the company's Multiflow product range.

These tank-top mounted return-line filters are suitable for flows up to 600 litre/min at a maximum working pressure of 8bar.

The new Multiflow elements are interchangeable with existing standard Multiflow filters, using the reusable sleeve and LEIF element, which is cost effective news for equipment users who already specify Multiflow.

The patented LEIF element contributes to improve the protection of the element aftermarket and gives OEMs and end users a guarantee of protection because no alternatively manufactured elements are available.
