Over the past 18 months, a team of engineers at Parker's Dewsbury production facility has been working on the development of a new integrated production line for replacement cans for the 200/400/600 spin on fuel filter water separator series.
This new line will replace the existing production line, and increase capacity while reducing setup times, allowing the division to meet increased levels of demand, improve product quality and improve customer service.
The investment in this new line is over $1.1 million - a significant proportion of the $2.5 million investment made over the last 12 months on the Racor brand in Dewsbury.
As well as improving the production facility, there will be small design changes made to the product to improve quality, endurance and production process flow.
This new line will be completed by the end of September 2004, and manufacture will be phased in gradually up to the end of December 2004.
The existing line will maintain full production capability during the change of manufacturing line, ensuring that supply will not be affected by the transition to the new line.
