Pressure Tech 2000 reckons it is one of the first UK pressure regulator manufacturers to obtain the new ATEX 100A directive on its range of electrically heated regulators for use in hazardous areas The XHR-300 has been certified by Sira Test and Certification to the new ATEX Directive 94/9/EC Group II, Category 2G, with T3 temperature rating

The regulator incorporates two 100W heaters to prevent condensable dropout as the gas pressure reduces through the regulator.

The first heater preheats the media prior to the let down, and the second heater provides extra heat input after the gas temperature drops from the Joule-Thomson effect, thereby keeping the gas sample ultimately dry for accurate analysis.

The unique design has an extra advantage of allowing the heater sheaths to be removed and cleaned of carbon build up - inherent on hydrocarbon analysis, which eliminates the need to replace heater tubes or whole regulator assemblies.
