Workshops explain the benefits of PLM
A two-day workshop in Boston, Massachusetts, is the first in a global series of events explaining the benefits of product lifecycle management.
The Product Lifecycle Management Interest Group (PLMIG) is holding a workshop on the Benefits of PLM on 28th February and 1st March 2006 in Boston, Massachusetts.
The workshop is the first in a series of international events to be hosted by founder members of the PLM Benefits Reference Model (BRM) Project.
In addition to the workshop in Boston, events are planned for the UK and Asia.
The objectives of the workshop are: to achieve an in-depth understanding of the current situation with PLM benefits - this situation is driving the need for a PLM Benefits Reference Model; and to prepare the plan for the next steps of the project which will lead to an internationally accepted PLM Benefits Reference Model.
The workshop will enable participants to: learn more about the PLM Benefits Reference Model Project; learn about the current situation of PLM benefits; understand the potential benefits of PLM; understand the reasons why identifying, quantifying and justifying PLM benefits can be so difficult; and find out how other companies address the issues of PLM benefits.
