Flat-panel display for medical equipment
A new dual-mode version of Planar Systems' VitalScreen flat-panel display platform is the first medical monitor that is designed to interface with both digital and analogue equipment
The touchscreen-enabled VitalScreen monitors will be installed in hospital rooms to provide bedside "pay per view" entertainment and Internet access for patients using credit card payment.
The medical-grade monitor features a 15in active matrix liquid-crystal display (AMLCD) colour screen, and is certified for patient proximity with low electromagnetic emissions and tolerance of rough handling and frequent cleanings.
Compared with traditional television sets, VitalScreen's flat-panel technology is less bulky, has a longer life, and requires less power.
