Shopfront provides easier access to plastics

PolyOne Corp has launched its new GetPolyOne web storefront (located at www.GetPolyOne.com).

PolyOne Corp has launched its new GetPolyOne web storefront (located at www.GetPolyOne.com).

It is an enhancement to and replaces the company's previous GetGeon site.

The new storefront gives registered, North American PolyOne customers online access to products from the company's plastic compounds and colours and specialty vinyl resins businesses.

"Our new, expanded GetPolyOne website offers our customers the opportunity to order a wide range of products from PolyOne", said David C Honeycutt, PolyOne's Global Director of eBusiness.

"Most importantly, it adds online access to our engineered materials and color and additive concentrates, along with PolyOne's vinyl compounds and specialty vinyl resins, previously available on our GetGeon site".

The plastic compounds and colours materials added to the storefront include: crosslinked polyethylene (XLPE) compounds; engineered compounds and composites; polyolefin compounds; thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) compounds; and thermoplastic colorants and additives.

"From start to finish, the new storefront has been designed with our customers in mind", said Honeycutt.

"Since GetPolyOne is connected to PolyOne's SAP system in real-time, orders can be accepted and processed at any time, thus delivering maximum convenience and flexibility of use.

Customers also save time because they receive immediate order confirmation.

In addition, with everything at their fingertips, customers can easily self-manage both transactions and account information".

Some of the specific capabilities of the website include: a personalised look at account information; real-time online product availability and order placement; real-time order status update (eg shipping information); order history tracking; accounts payable information; invoice status; and online access to technical datasheets and the full line of PolyOne literature.

"GetPolyOne joins PolyOne Distribution's PolyoneDirect.com website, as well as several other plastics and chemical industry portals, as state-of-the-art online channels between PolyOne and our customers.
